Surrounding Landhaus Eifelsicht

In the direct surroundings of Landhaus Eifelsicht you can do a lot of things. A lovely forest across the street of the bed and breakfast and open fields in the near surroundings, you almost automaticly get invited for nice walks and bicycle rides.  Various marked walking and cycling routes nearby. Among which for example the Vennbahn bicycle road, From Aken to Troisvierges. This is Europe's best bicycle road of the year 2014. The maximum incline is 2% so suitable for everybody. The tour is on a former traintrack including the trainbridges and tunnels. In 2016 they put up 500 kilometers of moutainbiketrails in the direct surrounding. The bed and breakfast is a perfect starting point for several stages of the Eifelsteig, a walk from Aken to Trier.  For motorbike riders the Eifel is the perfect surrounding for lovely tours on the winding roads. Several fixed routes thru the Eifel are passing directly in front of the bed and breakfast.

Autumn and winter are worthwhile a visit. In the autumn the forest is very beautiful with al the different colour of leaves. In the winter there are several possibilities for wintersport. Across the street in the forest there is a cross-country sking track of 8 kilometers. Five minutes down the road there is a little ski area Weißer Stein with a skilift and lift for tobogganing. There are also an additional 17 kilometers of cross country skiing track. So the perfect place for a little snow fun not so far from home. From the end of March (depending on the weather) every year the daffodils are blooming at the Belgium/German border, so here in the Olefvalley as well. The trails to the daffodilfields are all starting from the car park Hollerather Knie, 500 meters from our house.

For those who are interested in the Second World war, there is enough to discover. The battle of the Bulges started December 16, 1944 here at the German-Belgium border. There are still remains of that visible, and they still find artifacts out of that era.

Between an hour and an hour and a half drive, you can get to the cities like Aken, Cologne, Liège, Luxemburg and Trier. A short distance away from the bed and breakfast, you will find small historic villages like Monschau, Bad Münstereifel and Malmedy in Belgium

As you can see for everybody there is something to do. And otherwise you can sit and relax on one of our sceneric terraces or at the bar.
